We (not I) — Raven Row, Flat Time House, South London Gallery
27 April – 2 May 2015
The discussions and presentations of WE (Not I) will revolve around the topics of accumulation in collaborative art practice, the development of a “we” (non-singular) voice in art authorship, the gendered nature of art historic genius, female value, piracy, empathy as a radical position, and the edges of the self in relation to both circulated imagery and the medicated body . Daily private work meetings between the female participants will evolve in a way that both reflects and enacts the idea of the ‘non-singular’ voice of artistic production. Sharing and discussion throughout the week will be the principal mode of practice, acting as a site of productive space for each of the participants:
Christine Battersby, Sara De Bondt, E. C. Feiss and Larne Abse Gogarty, Avery F. Gordon, Melissa Gordon, Laetitia Beatriz, Catherine Grant, Rana Hamadeh, Sidsel Meineche Hansen, Fiona Jardine, Eva Kenny, Kaisa Lassinaro, Gil Leung, Marie Lund, Daria Martin, Karolin Meunier, Rita McBride , Rosalind Nashashibi & Lucy Skaer, Kathy Noble, Emily Pethick, Andrea Phillips, Falke Pisano, Nina Power, Irene Revell, Jenny Richards, Rosalie Schweiker & Maria Guggenbichler, Lisette Smits, Natasha Soobramanien, Grace Schwindt, Corin Sworn, Lisa Tan, Joanne Tatham, Cara Tolmie, Eva Weinmayr & Andrea Francke, Jessica Wiesner, Wendelien van Oldenborgh, Marina Vishmidt, Isla Leaver-Yap & Vivian Ziherl
